Welcome to Class 2.
Our staff members are Mrs Burdon and Miss Whalley. In Year 2, we are working on becoming more resilient and independent learners, taking responsibility for enjoying our learning.
We have had a very busy Autumn term and couldn’t choose the best parts so we asked the children what they have enjoyed learning and here are their responses …
“We have been learning about continents and oceans, I enjoyed the song”
“I liked learning all about money”
“I liked writing about Esio Trot because it had the word poo in”
“I liked Esio Trot and we got tp learn about it every day”
“We have learned about the five oceans”
“Making putty in science, Esio Trot, RWI, designing and making Santa’s sleigh and making poppy stones”
“I liked making Santa’s sleigh and working on Esio Trot. We learnt about Roald Dahl”
“I liked learning about materials” “I liked making putty!
In Spring term we will be investigating The Great Fire of London! I am very excited for this topic and know the children will love it.
We will be super scientists and look at our diet, health and growth. We will be making use of the Phunky Foods programme to support this and the children will have the chance to create healthy meals.
I will be learning some new skills alongside the children in ICT as we tackle programming.
We will learn about Judaism in RE alongside the Christian festival of Easter and we will continue to be responsible citizens as we develop our understanding of our rights and responsibilities and how to take care of our environment in PSHE.
