‘No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests.’
At Hensingham, we value the importance of a strong relationship between home and school. We strive to provide further experiences for parents that will support both themselves and their parents also.
As part of the Family Connector Project, we ran the SPACE Programme for parents in school (Supporting Parents and Children’s Emotions).
We held a Phonics Café to share the way we teach phonics with parents- this helps parents to support their children in learning to read at home.
We held a Behaviour Café to share our new behaviour policy with parents and discuss behaviour at Hensingham.
Fake away Friday!
A chance for parents to come into school and cook a healthy, ‘fakeway’ meal with their children to take home and enjoy!
Parents’ First Aid
We have booked a company to come into school to lead a Parents’ First Aid session.
